Kayaking Blackmans Bay

Today we went for a little kayaking and snorkelling trip just outside of Hobart, in Blackmans Bay. We were very lucky to catch a nice, warm and calm day.

As I haven’t kayaked for a very long time, I was certainly keen to get into it, and try not to fall into the water.

Before jumping into the water at lunch time, we stopped at a nice little bay. Here we encountered a mysterious door…Turns out it is the door to a wine cellar, with 4,000 bottles of wine inside, and a passage to the top of the cliff. Here a link to an article found on abc about the cave, which can be bought for 4 million AUD, just in case you are interested and have some cash to spare…

After returning to our designated snorkel spot we jumped into the water, to have a look at some poor remainders of the giant kelp…

The next step was catching our breath and kayaking back, to have a little BBQ on the shore…
