Yanchep

The real reason to go to Yanchep was to show my sister the koalas, the only “wild”, or rather the closest to wild koalas in WA. Not being native they have to be kept in a rather closed area, but they are not being fed or anything like this. After the short koala loop we went for the 12.4 km Ghost house trail, taking us a bit around the park. We were lucky enough to observe afew nice trees and plants as well as some animals, including the not so endemic either Kookaburras (tree kingfishers), kangaroos, a goanna (varan), a lot of birds and some bugs (or insects or whatever they are, the biologist in me would identify them as small animals…).
